Like the founding members of Nexus, Megan Jones was raised outside of horse racing and simply began following the sport with rabid interest on her own initiative in elementary school. Jones grew up with horses, riding before she could walk and competing on the East Coast in the hunters, jumpers and equitation through senior year of high school. Upon completing her Masters in Marketing from Clemson University at the age of 23, she moved to Kentucky and joined Team Valor International, where she worked as Director of Client Relations and in 2014 took the position as Vice President of the company. In 2012, she founded Valor Ladies, the first all ladies syndicate in the U.S., and continues to manage those horses under the stable Arnmore Thoroughbreds today. She also continues work for trainer Tom Proctor while starting a trucking company in South Carolina in 2017. In her extracurricular time, Megan enjoys going back to her roots and facilitating the retraining of horses coming off the track to find new jobs, and co-founded with Ali Goodrich the Changing Leads Thoroughbred Retraining Project.
