Nexus Partners with Rob Masiello and West Point Thoroughbreds

July 10, 2018

Team Nexus is excited to announce that we will be partnering with Rob Masiello and West Point Thoroughbreds on Corot, a 3-year-old colt by Pioneerof the Nile out of the Bertrando mare My Tina—making him a full brother to grade one winner Midnight Storm.

Rob and West Point purchased Corot from the Fasig-Tipton Horses of Racing Age Sale for $155,000. He was previously owned by M.V. Magnier and Stonestreet Stables and trained by Mark Casse. He will now be trained by Tom Morley.

Despite being in his mid-30s, Rob Masiello has owned racehorses for nearly 15 years, having invested in West Point Thoroughbreds. He has been a part of several graded stakes winners with West Point, including grade one winners Twilight Eclipse and Ring Weekend. Rob also maintains a predominantly New York-based stable of about 12 horses. He is an owner owner and director of the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association, as well as a board member of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.

West Point Thoroughbreds—with whom we are also partnered on Karmically—was created in 1991 with the goal to provide an inside access to Thoroughbred horse racing at a fraction of the cost. They have built their reputation on a philosophy of uncompromising quality and because of that, West Point now has over 500 partners and over 70 horses in their stable. West Point has had immense success, including more than 765 races won and more than 100 stakes wins—including the 2016 Kentucky Derby with Always Dreaming. Some notable West Point horses include Awesome Gem, Always Dreaming, Dream Rush, El Gato Malo, Flashy Bull, Freedom Child, Macho Again, Ring Weekend and Twilight Eclipse.

We are excited for the ride Corot will take us on!
